The standard dredge swivel bend is fitted with a large bearing between the bends. To take on the forces exerted by the floating pipeline, a pivot with a self-lubricating bush is fitted on the lower bend. This pivot prevents any torque from reaching the swivel. The welded steel foundation distributes the load from the floating pipeline to the hull of the dredge. The swivel bend is fitted with a replaceable rubber seal, which runs on a stainless steel contact surface. The rugged design of the swivel bend and the large radius of the pipe bends keep maintenance to minimum.
